Settling In

It's hard to believe we've been here a week already! A few things we've been up to...

**We're moved in, unpacked and feeling more like "home" here in North Carolina. Our apartment is the perfect size and the kids are adjusting nicely to the schedule/routine and seem to be handling the move quite well...huge praise!!

Thanks girls :)

**Class has been interesting, informative, thought provoking and challenging. A typical day begins with class at 8 going until noon and then an elective most afternoons. We've covered topics including: spiritual vitality, worldview, language and cultural acquisition, interpersonal skills...and the list goes on! I'm looking forward to putting these things we're learning into practice once we're on the field.

**We've been assigned an "ethnic" church to attend for 4 weeks. The purpose is to get you out out your comfort zone and learn how to deal with being the "outsider" in a new culture. We have been assigned to a Vietnamese church in Charlotte and went for the first time last Sunday. Their services are translated so we were able to hear in English and Vietnamese--which was nice and rare from what we gathered from friends who went elsewhere and didn't have a similar experience. Plus they have lunch after church every week so we're able to try some amazing Vietnamese food! We had a great time and look forward to going again this Sunday.

And did I mention homework?? D thinks its great he's not alone in the world of studying :) I'm off to hit the books and maybe an early bedtime (a girl can dream right?!)
