More Than Halfway...

Our time here is passing quickly...we're halfway done!

Some realizations...

~We are as green as Kermit the frog when it comes to this thing called "mission aviation". Yes, he's a pilot, yes,we are willing to go where He leads and...that's about it. We have so much to learn and glean and yes, that's happening through the amazing people we meet....through every paper we fill out, turn in and wait...we are in a huge learning curve that probably won't end for quite some time. Good thing green is my favorite color!

~I miss having a dishwasher. Yes, I completely took for granted the nights that dishes could just sit and wait for a full load to run. Now we have dishwashers in training...ages 8 and 5. It's good for them...and me!

~I heart Aldi. For real. They're prices are amazing, the food can be tweaked for deliciousness and the check out ladies amaze my kids with their lightning speed scanning abilities. Plus my son loves getting the cart for a quarter and returning it. Thank you Aldi...you have something for everyone.

~I almost feel like we're back at college except this time there are kids in the mix. There's such a strong sense of community among everyone here. Usually on any given evening there are kids at the playground or riding backs, dad's flying their model airplanes and moms watching it all, talking about everything and anything. I've had people ask to borrow dish soap, Parmesan cheese, cumin and yes, even a frozen pizza...just like college! For the most part we're all headed to different parts of the world but I'm thankful that we'll have a place to stay in case we ever end up for a visit in Brazil, Cameroon or Indonesia.

~Technology is awesome! From seeing friends and family to emailing paperwork to the other side of the world...I am thankful that we live in an age where it is easier than ever to communicate!

What's on tap for the other half of our time here?

~More classes, training and flying for Jason including an eleven day adventure final exam of sorts, in the mountains, mid-June.

~And...we continue to wait on the Lord to unfold His perfect plan for us in the "everyday".

A quote I came across seems appropriate for us during this season...
"Our willingness to wait reveals the value
we place on the object we're waiting for."
Charles Stanley
