Winding Down & Gearing Up

Our "August-that-wasn't-going-to-be-too-busy" has filled and is flying by. The kids can't believe that school starts in a couple of weeks. They think that since we're just now getting "settled" it's time for the fun to begin.

With this bit of information, I'm officially a party pooper named Debbie Downer in their eyes. (Secretly, I think they're excited about getting back into a routine, but I know they'd never say that!)

But today, I'm reminded and I'm overwhelmed with gratefulness and feeling blessed for this time we've already had back in Texas. Looking forward (and yes, kind of bracing myself!) for what the Lord has in store the rest of this year.

Some highlights of what we've been up to. (A good excuse for pictures!)

D figured out how to burn leaves with some sunshine and a magnifying glass...

The joys of potty training this one. We've had good and not so great days. However, I feel confident we'll be there before we take flight in January!

We ushered a friend into a new decade with a big surprise party which included a kidnapping by 2 grannies and a doctor, great food and lots of laughter! Funny...she left the kidnapping part out of her post about it??? I can't imagine why...

Found out that living in the country has advantages at the local grocery store...mini shopping carts for my shopping sidekicks!

Got to spend some time with one of my best friends. Hard to believe we've known each other for over 20 years! We can't be that old???

Jason is away for a couple of days so I gathered some courage and took my kids and nieces out to eat...8, 5, 3 and 2 two year olds! Yes, it was crazy, but we had fun.

Another blessing...my nieces will be big sisters this week...to a baby brother! So excited we'll be here for his birthday!
