Time for School

The thermometer read 101 earlier in the week (welcome to East Texas) but college football started last weekend and my kids started school, so it's officially fall 'round these parts.

Mo is filled with excitement and anticipation about this year. She's longed to go to kindergarten since last year, so the fact that it's finally here has her giddy. She told me Monday night..."Mom, I can't wait for the sun to go down, so then I'll have to go to bed and then when I wake up it'll be time to go to school!" First day was a success with the help of Mrs. Shannon! We heard about Rowdy the hermit crab class pet and a run down of the rules...you know-all the important things!

D is a little more on the apprehensive side about school. He loves his teacher (shout out and lots of prayer to Mrs. Ali!), loves his friends but he's also aware-more so than his sisters-that the next 4 months are going to race by. Come January, it's more good-byes, a new school, a new country and making new friends...all over again. Praying he enjoys his time now. We'll worry about the other details when the time comes. (Easier said than done for sure for all of us!)

Mal, Mal, Mal. She really thought she was going to kindergarten with Mo. When we dropped Mo off, Mal lingered in her class until we told her it was time to go. With a hug and kiss from big sis, Mal left with her big fat bottom lip hanging out.

Day 2...big crocodile tears :( Needless to say, the mornings have been filled with the question, "When is Mo done with school?!" She misses her sister. Apparently mom and dad are just not adequate replacements!
We are so blessed that D & Mo to be a part of Kids Central again and looking forward to how they grow in every way this semester. And for Mal? Praying she can adjust to hanging out with us while her best friends are gone most of the day!
