So...one of the highlights of the year happens every November...Carnival!
The High School puts on the event as a fundraiser for a ministry in PNG. The day is full of fun...
Face painting...
Mo with one of her besties |
This was Mal's first year to ride...she was SO excited! |
See the teenage boys arms? That's the power of the wheel! |
Cotton candy...
And games...of which I have no pictures and I don't know why!
This years theme was "Candyland". As part of the festivities, there was a pie contest.
Where there is a contest, there is Jaime.
Not that I'm competitive or anything.
So I submitted what I like to call my "Texas Chocolate Pecan Pie". (I was so excited we had pecans in the store!!) What makes it Texan you ask?
The cut out of Texas...that's all.
The panel of judges (see below) judged several different pies based on taste and appearance. Two of the judges are in aviation. I thought I had a chance!
How did the "Texas Chocolate Pecan Pie" fair?
Second.
I lost to an apple pie of all things.
Not bad for my first ever pie contest. My pie is now known as "the almost award winning chocolate pecan pie."
Maybe next year I'll get a re-do...
