The Best Laid Plans...

Saturday we went to the lake. Never mind that we apparently didn't look at the forecast. I mean, it's JULY and doesn't that mean a sky full of sunshine, hot weather and the lake calling your name?!

Uh, not this weekend.

So we went to the lake and it rained. Alot. The boat got a ride on the back of the trailer, took a dip into the water, only to be parked at the pier for a couple of hours before it was determined that, well, it was going to keep raining.

We did eat well (a plus!) and did a whole lot of NOTHING. Which, my SIL and I determined, was a much better scenario than being at home. Home means laundry, dishes, the usual boredom for 5 kids under the age of 6. At least at the lake there's no laundry, some dishes and different boredom for 5 kids under the age of 6.
Different boredom includes swinging on the porch swing til you decide that it can't go as high as your swing at home, so you're done...

D found fun in running outside around the house gathering rain in a bucket then dumping it in a dirt pile he discovered. Such a boy.

Mal hung out with her uncle...
But I think Mo had the best idea of all...

  1. I don't know why we don't go more often. It really is a great escape!
