There are, admittedly, lots of things in the Christian life I don't understand and prayer is one of them. I know our Heavenly Father desires for us to communicate with Him: our fears, our heartaches, our dreams, our tears, our everything and pour it out to Him, lay it at His throne room and let it go while we wait for answers. Our all knowing Heavenly Father wants to hear from us. It's our life line to Him. I can talk to Him anywhere, at any time and I know He hears me.
Even though I don't understand how prayer "works", I do know that prayer is powerful. I have seen my prayers heard, answered and responded to time and time again. Sometimes the answers aren't what I wanted, or expected. Sometimes the answers haven't made sense. There are still some petitions waiting on answers. Each time, I'm reminded that I am heard and that my Father loves me, even if it doesn't "go my way".
We have seen the power of prayer, and the prayers of others on our behalf, time and time again over the last year. We know that in the days, months and years to come, we need people committed to pray for us, our families and at certain times, specific prayer requests.
This aspect of our support is, I would dare say, is just as or more important than the financial support we need. We know that the Lord can provide us with everything we need financially-He owns it all!
We need people fighting on their knees, on our behalf, for the spiritual battle that's taking place. The enemy doesn't want us doing this and has tried to derail us more than I'll admit here. But it's also during those times that I know people are praying for us. We usually hear from people on the day things are happening with us saying, I don't know what you're going through today, but the Lord put you on my heart. I wanted you to know I'm praying for whatever you're going through. If that's not the Holy Spirit and Lord at work, I don't know what is!
Will you pray for us and the work of Bible Translation across the world? And not just every now and again, but on a committed, monthly basis?
I am adding a page to the top entitled "Prayer Calendar". I would love to see someone or a family praying for us every day of the month. If you are interested in praying for us on a committed, monthly basis, let me know and I will add your last name only into the calendar. Our goal as a family is to pray for each financial and prayer partner we have as well. So as you pray for us, we are praying for you.
Thanks for thinking about being a part of this and we look forward to seeing great things happen!
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths." Proverbs 3:5,6
