**Living in Texas has some disadvantages especially in the summer. We've been over 100 degrees so many days I've lost count and don't even care what kind of records have been broken. It's just hot and there's no way around it. So most days I've put on my referee jersey and grade school P.E. whistle to break up the threesomes fights, squabs and brawls.
However, I would like to give a shout out to the inventor of Legos. You've saved one soon to be eight year olds life and given him countless building opportunities. He even said one day that he had "blueprints in his brain" that were just waiting to get out! Every day a new creation, a new idea...thank you Mr. Lego Man.
**Jason and I were a part of an ensemble at church this summer and finished our series of songs on Sunday. We had a great time singing with some amazingly talented people. There is talk of us doing some Christmas music and I hope this is true-it would be so much fun!
**In late July, Jason, his dad and D went to Osh Kosh, Wisconsin for one of the largest general aviation shows in the world. They flew in a Piper Archer and camped in a tent out by the plane. An aviation junkies paradise to be sure.
I gave my 7 year old strict orders to take plenty of pictures knowing his father would not. Over a hundred pictures later...here's a sampling of the show through seven year old eyes. I left out pics that he took of fruit at the grocery store. After all, we've all seen fruit at the store right?

The sign on the table at Fazoli's-why this was intriguing I'll never know |
The Bratwurst 18 wheeler that came to Osh Kosh |
The ONLY picture out of 4 days that we have of the Brewer boys together |
Of course, a self portrait while flying (he takes after his mother) |
Thankfully, Papaw took the camera and snapped the boys with the snazzy painted float plane |
**The girls, during the boys sabbatical, took the opportunity to visit Nannie and my parents. Nannie is a sucker for reading the same book ten times and getting as much lovin' in as possible!
**By summer's end we had managed to kill all of our grass except one patch. The surviving green needed some attention and D
And that's...pretty much it. I know, not too exciting, but I think our excitement lies in the months and year ahead, so I'll take boring while I can.
