My first go around in the country, I ended up finding out what to do when a stray dog dies in your garage, the neighbor's dog dies in the pond out back and what to do when a baby bird falls out of its nest onto the sidewalk.
I decided that I wasn't really ready for country living.
Fast forward seven years, a couple more kids, living in the not-so big city, having a social life and I'm still not so sure I'm ready for full on country life.
The grasshoppers are pretty much like I envision a Biblical plague. Occasionally they hitch a ride into town only to get detoured by going 70 down the highway. They just can't hold on.
I came home last Saturday morning from a run and found this blocking my entrance:
Jason stopped what he was doing (I'm sure with added eye roll at my fear), came out, killed the snake, disposed of said reptile, went back in, washed his hands and just like that was back to getting french toast on the table.
Like a friend said, "Just another day in the country."
The next night, a tree frog hopped in and planted himself on the dining room table. Seriously, creatures...stay away and out of the house!
Again, hubs saved the night letting the frog hop on his arm for an escort into the great outdoors.
I really believe everything is in preparation for something else later on in life. With my recent run-ins with nature, I'm a little concerned as to what might be on the horizon!
