Day 11 of 24 Days of Thanks

Eight years ago we entered this race called parenthood. I remember those first few days pretty clear even in my new role as mom...my hubs turned new father apologizing to his hours old newborn son that he had no idea how to change a diaper...not knowing that jaundice was pretty typical in newborns and wondering if he would always be orange...

We didn't know much then and even though we've grown as parents, there's still so much we don't know as we raise this boy into a man. I'm thankful for God's wisdom and leading as we parent.

I'm thankful for this boy we have on loan for a short time. I'm thankful he is growing not only physically, but spiritually. He is smart, loves to learn, (secretly) loves his sisters, loves to explore. One day I hope his excessive chatter will be put to good use with his fierce independence. I pray the Lord will use this boy to one day be a man of God and use him wherever He sees fit.

Love you D man...you'll always be my baby :)
