Thirteen Years

Thirteen years ago we said “We Do”.

Like every newlywed couple, after you cut the cake and start living life, the reality of those words have new meaning.

“We Do” meant...

Getting through that first year of marriage with differences in everything from how to squeeze the toothpaste tube to arguing about which chicken spaghetti recipe is better...

Eating (and surviving!) some really interesting meals...and that’s before we left the country...

Seeing each other in times of joy, heartache, sorrow, pain and sickness...and leaning on  each other and God to get through it all...

Watching in awe as three kids came into the world and now raising them as best as we can with the Lord’s help...still in awe that He’s given us such a responsibility...

Some days living with the ugly side of each other...but finding forgiveness at the end of the day...

Supporting and cheering each other on...

Watching God mold, shape, stretch and mature each of us over the years...it hasn’t always been easy...or pretty...

Realizing a dream and a passion turn into reality...

In all of it...I’m grateful to the One who brought us together for whatever length of time He allows us on this earth.

I am blessed.
