Another Friday

I don’t know why we’re surprised when Friday sneaks up on us around here. I mean, it happens...every.single.week, yet Friday morning the kids are like, “It’s Friday? Really?”

Then we’re scrambling to go over spelling words one last time before school starts...but that’s beside the point.

Some of the happenings lately...

We hosted 3rd & 4th grade boys overnight as part of Sunday School camp last weekend. The guys were great...even if they woke up at 5:30 on Saturday morning!

Saturday morning devotions...or paper airplane flying if you're name is Mal
I know...another tree picture..but look at these faces!
The largest pot of rice I've ever made...makes for a yummy breakfast (with rice and milk) for a house full of boys!
Great shot by the hubs of the bonfire Friday night!
Related to the weekend was this cabbage! I know I posted it on Facebook, but I think the enormity of this head is worth posting again!

What was the fate of this cabbage you ask? It became part of the dinner we ate at camp on Saturday night.

In other news...we’re gaining a member of the Brew Crew! Meet Ranger, a nod to our beloved Texas Rangers.

I know...we’ve lost our minds, but everyone seems on board...for the most part. There may or may not be a member of the family who’s not 100% sure that this is the best decision we’ve ever made. However he, I mean, this family member, was outnumbered and willing to show some flexibility, love and sacrifice of self on the matter.

As you may imagine, there was much rejoicing in this decision.

Yes, I’m aware that the puppy love will fade away and that at some point in my life, I will be the sole caregiver for this animal. (Was this how my parents felt when I was a child?! I'm going with...YES.)
All of this will probably happen sooner rather than later, but for now, I will live off the promises of everyone that has professed their love for this dog. Especially my nine year old.

Ranger will join our family in a couple of weeks. Enough time to build a doghouse out of an old fence in our yard. Where’s the HGTV camera crew when you need them?!
