We ate our first pineapple from our garden last week!
In my book, he’s adorable. Why can’t he ALWAYS smile like this when the camera is out?
Oh wait...he’s almost 10...that’s why.
This week, the sweet lady who works in our yard/garden came to clean around the pineapple grove and found this gem...the pineapple, not the girl. :)
Both pineapples were good, but the second was super sweet as it had been hiding in the grove and had plenty of time to ripen. So excited that there are more little pineapples in the making! I'm interested to see how long it takes for one to grown.
Three days into preschool and she’s developed a skill for tree climbing and very proud of her accomplishment.
I promise, she’s getting a great education. I just hope I don’t get educated in caring for a broken arm or leg any time soon.
We met these tree kangaroos a couple of weeks ago on a trip into the nearest town. Super cute, super creepy extra long tails. I didn’t get a great picture of the tail so you’ll just have to believe me. Their dinner of choice? Hibiscus flowers.
You seriously want to hug them they’re so squishy, cuddly looking, but I’m guessing they’re in a cage for a reason, so I opted to hug my daughter instead.
Then there was the koki (I think it’s a cockatoo in English?) They're very talkative birds. This one asked if we had lice. His question made me check my kids heads just to be safe.
Carbholics rejoice! My bread baking skills have improved greatly over the last several weeks! You may not have lost sleep over this, but there are certain people who have questioned whether or not they’d ever see a dinner roll or hamburger bun in the next 3 1/2 years.
Okay, maybe I was the only one stressed by my lack of beautiful, tasty bread, but this batch reassured everyone in the house (and the neighbors who were over for dinner) that I am not a total lost cause on the bread front.
And last but not least...I realized I was missing a pic of my middle child on this post, so I asked her to pose with her doughnut.
Yes. A doughnut.
There are a couple of ladies at the market who sell them. We have our favorite lady and for the equivalent of about a quarter, we treat ourselves every Friday.
Guess after seeing this happy face, I'm committed to Friday morning market runs.
Happy Friday...Happy Weekend!
