Sunday Snapshots

It's Sunday which means a closer look at this week!

Towards the end of last year we were asked if we would pray about becoming "produce buyers" once a week for a Christian guesthouse in the capital. The couple that had been the buyers were "going finish" as they had served here for over 20 years and were headed back to the States. After much prayer and logistical thinking, we said yes.

Why buy at our market? The costs to buy produce near the capital are crazy expensive. Even with the per kilo cost to fly the veggies, it is still much cheaper for them to buy from the Highlands and have it shipped! The picture doesn't do the lettuce and broccoli justice...there's usually alot! But here's a typical week that we ship...

Another new food venture started this week as well. Friends of ours that work for another organization needed a way to host a business lunch once a month with the regional directors of our organization. Not having restaraunts around, they asked if I would cater for a group of about 15 and I said yes. What I forgot was to take a picture after I set up the first lunch this week! So instead, here is my mess from the aftermath!
Lots of rain this week...here's the small flood running down our road...
And even in the soggy grass somersaults are in order. (Notice their cheering section on the far left.)

Our POC group celebrated our one year anniversary on Saturday. We missed some due to illness and traveling and oh yeah...WORKING!

We played bocce ball and I unfortunately didn't win the women's tourney.

I blame it on the sloping backyard.

There were also photo bombed selfies with my son and our friend Lindsey that went wrong due to timers and people (eh, hem, ME) talking...

Timer off, talking momentarily silenced...much better picture...

Anyway, back to bocce ball. My husband didn't let the back yard slope bother him and brought home a victory from the men's competition.

The boys even started a game, but got distracted by the "ice cream van" that drove by. And I'm pretty sure they were making up scores along the way.

Let's just declare them all winners and be done with it.

Last but not least...from the skies...actually from the ground...one of the pilots Jason flew with took this picture and sent it to me.

Sometimes there's nowhere to sit other than inside the plane!

And that's a wrap for this week!
