Sunday Snapshots

Let's be honest, you couldn't wait for Sunday to see how the curtains turned out from last week. :)
Well, here they are. A fitted double sheet turned curtains for Mal's room....

Please ignore the unmade bed and be glad you didn't see her cluttered floor! It should be noted that no one was nearly excited about the finished product as me...sad isn't it?! Since last weeks success, I've made two sets of curtains for my friend Sarah. Clearly, she's not worried that I can only sew one kind of curtain and barely in a straight line.
My apologies to those that have heard this next story 500 times or to those who've even seen it reenacted this week. You knew it was going to be headline news for this weeks "Sunday Snapshots"!

Tuesday night I hear this horrible scratching sound near my ear. I woke up in a panic thinking I was imagining things.

I took a good swipe under my pillow, readjusted my head, my pillow...and still heard scratching. This time it was even LOUDER and near Jason's head!

He bolted straight up, never turned the light on, but proclaimed a lizard was in our bed, shook his pillow in a fury, swiped the bed, picked up his pillow and...immediately fell back asleep.

Amazing.

Not me...WIDE AWAKE for the next several hours.

Anyway, the next morning, after I returned from Bible study, this thing was half dead on our floor.

Say hello to a Highlands centipede....
Apparently in the swiping of everything in the dark, in the middle of the night, Jason knocked him off the bed somewhere and he crawled out during the day only to finally die in broad daylight.

Oh why yes, that IS a bowl over our unwelcomed guest. I didn't want him going any where. Jason needed to identify him...and I needed proof that I wasn't crazy and making up stories about giant insect creatures in my spare time.

Speaking of Jason, he went on a flight this week and was given a stick of sugar cane, one of the girls favorites! The only problem is how to get sugar cane home when you ride a motorcycle to work, but he figured it out.

I've been part of the planning committee for the women's ministry in our community for several months now. Saturday we did a cooking demonstration. Five different nationalities demonstrated a dish from their home country. Such a tasty day and we learned something new too!

Love these crazy women I get to work with on these events! They keep me laughing and we have way too much fun together!

Guess that's a wrap for this week. Praying you have a creature free week ahead of you!
