*Your youngest can't believe that all the eggs, everywhere, aren't brown and aren't delivered by Mr. Orava every week.
*White sugar is a treat (at least for mom’s baking) and can be more expensive than the raw, natural sugar we normally use.
*Breakfast time includes the question, “Mom...did you make any milk today?” We don’t have “real” dairy here. Options include milk powder (the cheaper option) or Ultra Heat Treated (UHT) boxed milk.
*There’s an animated and loud “discussion” about the benefits of wearing shoes to church, to school, to the store...well, anywhere. I’ve found that on some occasions, it’s not worth the battle.
*When the phrase “I”M HUNGRY!” is heard you retaliate with “GO EAT A BANANA!”
*When seeing a beautiful day your kids say, “Guess we’ll have hot showers tonight.”
*When there's been a day of rain, bedtime prayers include thankfulness for a full water tank and prayers for gardens to grow.
*When you find yourself wishing out loud for a dishwasher, you then find yourself explaining what the machine is...as your youngest “helps” you in the soapy water with after dinner dishes.
*Your MK takes it in stride when there’s been no cheese imported to the store...for weeks.
*When a favorite shirt is missing it’s not usual for your kid to be out by the laundry line checking to see if it’s dry yet. (And sometimes even if it’s “close to dry” they’ll wear it anyway!)
