The center shut down is almost over. It's been a good 2 weeks once the break began. The first day of shut down both Jason and I had work phone calls requiring our attention. His required flying a medical evacuation to Australia for 4 days. Thankfully, the patient recovered and everyone made it back before Christmas.
A big blessing of the shutdown is having some much needed downtime. We've rested and worked on a few house projects that we've been wanting to tackle. When we weren't working on projects, we've had some fun and lots of great food!
A brunch with friends on Christmas Eve morning...
Cookies baking to give to neighbors...
Watching a flying lantern a friend has...yes...just like in Tangled!
Market runs with dad...
Fresh Strawberries in December...
Fancy dinners with decorations by a couple of cute 3rd graders. (Yes, those are tea lights spelling out "Christ!" They insisted. It was so hot on the table that the butter melted....)
Christmas morning fun!
Gifts that required patience and time. Dad and Mal worked on hand stitching a sock animal...for hours!
Finally...a family Christmas picture that took way longer to coordinate than necessary, but worth it in this mama's opinion.
