Thanksgiving Weekend Wrap Up

We just finished a great Thanksgiving weekend with friends, plenty of food and so much fun...even if the temps were pushing 90 degrees!

As Thursday is just a "normal day" here, we gathered for dinner that night with friends and this feast...
Seriously we had way too much GOOD food!!
Fun centerpieces our friends kids made
I was able to make a chocolate pecan pie...a staple for us during the holidays, so the fact I could make it here made my day! I made the pie crust and added my own personal touch. I had to represent since we were completely outnumbered by the East Coast!
Our first and only attempt at a group shot! Pretty impressive!
Friday we decorated the house for Christmas...

We realized in all of our moving around over the last 3 years, Mal has NEVER put the star on the tree!
The finished product! (The tree isn't really that tall, it's just sitting on a table)
Stockings on the mantel and the nativity (left) was in one piece when we pulled it out of storage-YAY!
And in a new tradition...I went to stand in line at our store for the "Saturday Black Sale". We brought something to sip on and something to sit on while we waited an hour and a half for the doors to open! (We take our excitement when we can get it!)

Inside there were so many fun things! Bath and Body Works lotions from the US, toys, games, even electronics! We didn't buy much, but did have a find for the day...York peppermint patties! These are THE stocking stuffer for our kids and have been for years, so I completely splurged! Can we wait to eat them til Christmas Day?!
Inside the store...
Saturday we gathered with our some of  POC family for a "Thanks-Mas" celebration! More food, more fun and we watched "Elf"!

Now the countdown for Christmas is ON! Looking forward to the last few weeks of 2013!
