The first few days were brutal. Copious amounts of whining followed with the familiar phrase heard worldwide..."I'M BORED!!!!"
So to combat such thoughts, I made a daily schedule and put them to work. And guess what? They secretly love it. Each kid has there "to do" checklist that includes everything from room cleaning, music practice to handwriting depending on the kid. They didn't give in without a fight, rest assured, but we're surviving the daily grind a little better.
I've also tried to say "YES" more this break which translates into spontaneous sleepovers and a revolving door of kids, dirt and snacks. (These people are ALWAYS hungry!) Needless to say, their social calendars have been quite full, but I hope they've had fun.
