Sunday marked 12 years of wedded togetherness for the pilot and I. There was no fancy dinner to mark the occasion. Instead-we're doing what we do best lately-planning another 2,000 mile road trip.
Our destination: Oshkosh, Wisconsin and AirVenture. If you're an aviation nut, you try to go at least once (or more!) in your life.
Normally, this wouldn't exactly be my cup of tea and definitely a trip my guys love-see last summer-but we're going to represent JAARS and talk about our roles in mission aviation. Of course, I can get excited about that, so I don't mind going, living and breathing among all things aviation for 7 straight days.
Tomorrow we head to part of the northern United States I've never been, on an 18 hour car ride, sans kids. (Translation: Jason is blessed to be road tripping with just me and the grandparents need prayers the next 12 days!)
I've planned my bathroom stops to include a restaurant in Oklahoma featured on "Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives" (we have to eat right?!) a picture by the St. Louis arch...and a stop in Sheboygan just to name a few. Sheboygan? Just because I like saying the name!
Not that any of these stops will actually happen. As you'll recall, I've been married for a dozen years and I know road trips aren't exactly his idea of fun. He'd rather be flying than riding in a car! So I'm responsible to add the fun along the way...and I take that responsibility seriously!
Twelve years of give and take and thousands of miles on the road....and looking forward to more with my best friend!
Will update as I have a connection....time to hit the road!
